Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Riva Ganguly Das today held a meeting with Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

The courtesy call was held at the office of the minister's secretariat in the capital Dhaka, state news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha or BSS reported.

The Facebook page of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka also published a short report in this regard, saying that during the meeting, Riva Das and Obaidul Quader discussed various issues related to cooperation between the two countries.

The Indian high commissioner's meeting with Obaidul Quader, an influential minister in the government and general secretary of the ruling Awami League, came at a time when the media in both countries were reporting a kind of coolness between the two neighboring countries.

There were also reports in the Indian media that the Indian ambassador could not meet the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina despite repeated attempts for four months.
